What is Adventure?
Adventure is more of saga that is fun to write and read. It ties in with mythology, folk lore, fairy tales, and legends combined with modern events and ancient history.
There is action with a touch of danger, excitement and courageous heroism. As far as tying in this series with the label of supernatural, fantasy, history, or science-fiction, well, it is a mix of them all. It has the mysticism that will leave you wanting to read the next book.
Mythic fiction is literature that is rooted in, inspired by, or that in some way draws from the tropes, themes and symbolism of myth, legend, folklore, and fairy tales. It can even be based on traditional stories. As with all good stories, there is an air of mystery in my novels.
There's always a twist
Examples - Bram Stoker's Dracula (book) or TV shows: X-Files and Grimm
Whereas Sherlock Holmes, such as Hounds of Baskerville is similar but with a natural ending, making it misleading from the basis of Mythology. The same is for the early morning Saturday cartoon, Scooby-Doo.
Mystery VS Detective
The difference between the mystery and the detective aspect, is that the detective solves the mystery by investigating and solving the puzzle, however the mystery without the detective is that the storyline focuses on the strange happenings that play out to tell the story. There may be the interplay of right and wrong, good and evil, creating more of the thriller component.
